Will Johnson Creates Work for Boston Cyberarts and Sound Design for New Piece Opening at BAM in Fall 2023

An update on Will Johnson's work this spring and summer

Will Johnson, PhD candidate in Music and Multimedia Composition, has been busy with a couple projects this spring/summer. He contributed sound design for Okwui Okpokwasili and Peter Born's "adaku, part 1: the road opens," and his work was selected for Boston Cyberarts' "Waveforms" event at the Museum of Science, Boston's Omni Theater.

"adaku, part 1: the road opens" is a dance-theatre piece created by Okwui Okpokwasili and Peter Born. Will Johnson collaborated with Born on sound design. "adaku" was commissioned by BAM for the 2023 Next Wave and the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston and was also developed during a residency at the Brown Arts Institute and a residency at the Mercury Store in Brooklyn, NY. In other news this spring and summer, Will Johnson's work was selected for Boston Cyberarts' upcoming "Waveforms" event on July 13, 2023. Will's submission for "Waveforms" is among 21 experimental animations, new media, & video art pieces from local, national, and international artists that will be part of a presentation at the Museum of Science, Boston's Omni Theater.
