Stephan Griffin

Director of Brown University Chorus

Biography

Stephan Griffin is a versatile artist who serves as Director of the University Chorus at Brown University as well as Director of Music at All Saints Parish in Brookline, Massachusetts. He holds degrees in vocal and organ performance from Boston University (BM, DMA) and The University of Texas at Austin (MM). 

Praised for his warm tone by Early Music America and The Washington Post, Stephan has performed with leading ensembles including four-time GRAMMY®-nominated Skylark Vocal Ensemble, Yale Consort, The Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Long & Away, Odyssey Opera, Schola Cantorum of Boston, and Vox Vocal Ensemble of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. 

As an organist and accompanist, he has appeared in recitals across the United States and collaborated with a wide range of vocal and instrumental ensembles. Notable performances include appearances at The John F. Kennedy Center, Strathmore Hall, Trinity Church Copley Square (Boston), Methuen Memorial Music Hall, and the Cathedral of St. Philip (Atlanta). His playing has also been featured on the nationally syndicated radio program Pipedreams.

In addition to his work at Brown University and All Saints Parish, Stephan is a member of the Music and Liturgy Commission for the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and has served on the board for the Association of Anglican Musicians.
