Esther Kurtz, who received her Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from Brown this year, is about to begin an assignment as Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in the Department of Music at Washington University in St. Louis. She will be teaching two courses a semester in topics such as American Popular Music, Ethnographic Methods and Ethics, and Jazz History, as well as continuing to develop her research on capoeira Angola in Brazil.
